In the FunKI project we are working on efficient AI based algorithms for the improvement of system performance, network coverage, service quality, and initial network access. Additionally, we reduce the computational effort with respect to state-of-the-art methods and algorithms. This is especially important for massive MIMO antenna systems used in 5G base station. To enable these goals, we introduce highly efficient AI/ML based algorithms to improve parameter estimation and prediction on physical layer and develop an AI/ML based link adaptation that takes benefit from these accurately estimated physical layer parameters.
