With the official kick-off taking place today, 8 German companies and organisations are joining forces to define the future of telecommunication in project FunKI.

Funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the projects aims to combine two cutting edged technologies, 5G and artificial intelligence.

Centred at academic work, the 8 project partners focus on fundamental scientific research, real world applications and basic demonstrators.

Apart from the University of Bremen as the projects coordinator, the FunKI-consortium consists of the Creonic GmbH, the German Research Center for Artificial (DFKI), specialist from the Intel Corporation, the Motius Gmbh, Nokia Bell Labs and the Technical University of Kaiserslautern as well as the University of Stuttgart.
